Scientist of the Week 2015 | Forming a Gas

Our second Scientist of the Week demonstrated how to form a gas. The class also learned that even though things might look the same, they can be very different.

Scientist of the Week 2015 | Rock Candy

Our very first Scientist of the Week presented a yummy experiment explaining how rock candy can be made at home. At the end of her experiment, our Scientist gave each student in the class rock candy that they could eat. The kids who couldn't wait to dig into treats got in a few licks before it was time to pack up and go home. I am looking forward to all the rest of our Scientist of the Week experiments!

2014 Scientist of the Week :: Making Perfume

2014 Scientist of the Week :: Drinking Plants

This is what happened to one of the flowers after letting it sit in the colored water for 24 hours.
To make things interesting, we split the stem of one of the flowers. We put half of the stem in blue water and the other half in red water.

After 24 hours, the flower petals on the side of the blue water turned blue
and the flower petals on the side of the red water turned red! Amazing.

2014 Scientist of the Week :: Making Butter

The kids really enjoyed this experiment that demonstrates a physical change of matter.
